Training
In March 2002, the first national training course was held in Hinton, Alberta at the Environmental Training Centre (now called the Hinton Training Centre). Most agencies across Canada participated in this course. The last Prometheus training course was held in February, 2010 at the Hinton Training Centre. The Prometheus model is now a national, interagency-sponsored fire management tool. A 32-hour course curriculum has been submitted to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC) National Training Working Group (NTWG) for endorsement.
The next 32-hour Prometheus training course is scheduled for February 6 to 10, 2012 at the Hinton Training Centre. Visit the Hinton Training Centre website for more course details. The FIRES number for this course is 179.
